What Fujitsu is known for
Fujitsu heat pumps are made by the company formerly called Fujitsu General, which is a separate business from the Fujitsu computer and IT company. It was acquired by Paloma Rheem Holdings in 2025 and renamed GENERAL Inc. on 1 January 2026. In New Zealand the business now operates as GENERAL New Zealand.
Products are moving from the Fujitsu badge to the General Airstage name. It is the same company and range, so you may see either name on quotes and units for a while. The brand has a long history in the New Zealand and Australian market and is familiar to most installers.
It is commonly chosen for living-area high-walls and for ducted systems in new builds and renovations.
The range in New Zealand
Expect high-walls across the usual sizes, floor consoles, ducted systems and multi-splits. Like other brands, the model line-up and names change over time, so let the installer match a current model to your room.
Who it suits
A sound choice if you want a widely supported brand with a broad range, from a single bedroom unit to whole-home ducted. Compare cold-weather output and noise figures against the other brands on your shortlist.
What to ask before you buy
- Which models in the range suit my room size and climate?
- What is the heating output at low outdoor temperatures?
- What warranty applies to parts and labour, and does it need regular servicing?
- Is Wi-Fi or app control included, or an add-on?
- Do you install this brand regularly, and who handles warranty work?
